The City of Calgary’s Standing Policy Committee on Transportation and Transit will review recommendations to the Transportation bylaw from City administration on Wednesday, February 27th. These recommendations include allowing skateboarding downtown and in the bike lanes/cycle track.
CASE is supportive of these recommendations and will attend the Committee meeting to express our support.

You may know that skateboarding downtown or what’s known as the “Central Traffic Zone” has always carried a $25 fine. We contacted the City’s Bylaw department and they told us that since 2001, only 13 tickets had been issued.
