Fuse Fest Results/Photos

On what could have been one of the last nice days of the year, the Fuse Festival was filled with heated competition in the Clover Bowl Jam. The Calgary skate scene came out in hopes of walking away with pockets full of cash.

The qualifying round was a fast paced showdown with skaters going for broke and the crowd cheering them on. The finals consisted of the top six skaters moving on to 1 minute bowl run to showcase their skills. It was difficult for the judges to pick between these top bowl shredders but in the end Dan Kneeshaw with his HUGE stalefish in the deep end walked away with the title and $500 cash & a stack of prizing. Tristan Henry came in a close 2nd place, $300 richer for his efforts. There was a tie place for 3rd place between Kael Hill and Dylan Dillz, who shared $200.

“Gentleman’s Club” consisted of veteran bowl slayers – Dwayne Mazereeuw took a well-deserved first place taking home a skate package & a Rona gift card. Pete Sargant took 2nd place with his all-around gnarly style. Brian Scherban took a respective 3rd.

Groms also came to compete with the big boys and the top 3 all walked away with a new skate deck in hand and arms full of prizing!

Thanks to all the sponsors, organizers, contestants, and anyone who helped make this a solid event. Results and photos (courtesy of John Rajic) below:
