Millennium Park Clean Up

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Spring is “officially” here but there is still a lot of snow at the skatepark. We’re planning to clean it up so that we’ll be able to skate as soon as possible. Come out and join us on April 18th when we shovel, ice-chop, sweep, mop, and do what it takes to get Mills back into skateable condition. There will be some give-aways from sponsors The Source, Element Skateboards, and C1RCA. Check the poster for details and bring your own shovels and brooms!

Millennium Park Update

Friday, March 13th, 2009

It should come as no surprise that Millennium Park is still covered in snow. As of this afternoon though, the tub is completely clear and dry. The warm weather we’re in for this weekend should help melt some of the snow and it won’t be long until we see stuff like this going down:

Skate Churches

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Spring is nearly here but we’re not quite done with the snow and cold weather. If you’re looking for spots to skate that aren’t illegal, dirty, and/or dangerous, check out one of the “skate churches”.

Dalhousie Community Church hosts sessions on Tuesday nights:

5:30PM – 7:00PM 15 and under
7:30PM – 9:00PM 16 and over

Helmets are required and the cost is $2.

Centre Street Church is open for skating Thursday nights from 7:00PM – 9:00PM. It goes down in the gym of the West campus. Check out their flyer here.
