Don’t forget about the Volcom skate comp this Saturday at Millennium Park:

Rolling Perspective Show

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Color Magazine, Etnies, and some other companies are coming together to present A Rolling Perspective: group show of self portraiture. I checked out the show in Winnipeg and it was rad. The idea is to roll to each venue via skateboard. There are photos from some well-known skateboard people and some not-so well-known ones. It’s all gravy just the same. It goes down in Calgary on Friday September 26th at Group 7, Goodfoot, and Artlife. Here’s the flyer:

Habitat Demo Announced!

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

A few of the Zero guys were in town recently. They couldn’t have been here long, judging by the photos.

Don’t worry though, pro skaters will be gracing our city once again very soon. Members of the Habitat team will be in Cochrane for a demo on October 2nd. Thanks to Regina’s The Tiki Room for the flyer.

Shoot to Thrill

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Red Bull is doing their Shoot to Thrill video contest again this year. The Calgary team consists of Sean MacAlister, Drew Merriman, and Kevin Lowry, as documented by Mark Webber and Jeff Thorburn. Check their team page here and vote for them when the vid is up!

Contest Moved/Source Park Memories

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Good news! The Volcom “Wild in the Parks” contest did not take place on Saturday. It’s been rescheduled for Saturday, September 27th, still at Millennium Park.

Even better news is the first ever CASE exclusive:
A well-known and respected skate company will be sending some of their riders (pro and am) through Western Canada. Cochrane will be one of the stops in about two weeks. This demo tour will serve as a “going pro” celebration for a certain Canadian skater. Check back next week for all the details…

Did you notice how it’s getting cold? And how we have no indoor park? We can always dream about the good old days of the Source Park:
